In Mexico the Agave stalk is called Quiote by the Tarahumara or Raramuripeople in Chihuahua. I discovered that the Apache are not the only Native Americans to have used this wood. Most of the Raramuri violins look more like standard European type but here I have copied one shaped like a mask and made from one piece of Quiote. They also make a mouthbow with three strings called a Chapareque.
